22 Week Appointment

We had our 22 week appointment today and everything seems to be right on track! Her heartbeat was 145 and she weighs a little under 1lb. I'm doing good too...blood pressure was fine and no swelling yet.
I'm afraid I'm going to be a little bored in September since all of our visitors have come and gone. I need to think of some new hobbies to do before Ellie gets here. Maybe sewing???
My mom and I got some things done in the nursery when she was here. The curtains are up and we painted a chest that will be used for the changing table. Other than that, we will have to wait to make the bedding until the crib comes in. Here's a sneak peak of what we've done. The chest and curtains are more of a lime green in person.

Girl Stuff!

I've had lots of fun shopping for pretty girl stuff this week! I had actually ordered this book before we knew it was a girl, but I had a feeling I would be needing it. My grandmother had an original copy of this book that someone had given her for her Birthday, so I thought that Ellie needed one too. It will be fun to collect this whole series of books.
I ordered a crib on Monday and have picked out some fabrics for her room. My mom will be here later this week and she is going to start sewing for us.
My other daughter has been acting out lately. I had left the door to the baby's room open today for maybe 1 hour and went to close it only to find that someone had gone #1 and #2 in there!! This is not the first time this has happened either. Harper is a really good dog and never had accidents in our old house. I think she must some how know that she is not the baby anymore and is already acting out! What is she going to do once the baby is actually here???

It's a GIRL!!!

We are so excited about our sweet baby girl! The ultrasound on Friday was so neat, and I can't believe we can already see what she is going to look like. We are thinking about naming her Eloise Grace (Eloise after my grandmother and Grace after my mom) and calling her "Ellie". We have a lot to look forward to!

Biltmore and the Beach!!

I've been pretty busy the last couple of weeks. One of my very best friends, Avie, came to visit me for a few days. We went and saw the Biltmore in Asheville and it was amazing! It is well worth the trip if you have never been. We also had fun touring the city and looking at baby stuff (Avie is expecting her first baby two weeks after us...I promise we didn't plan this: ) Then last weekend Carter and I went to the beach for a work conference. We stayed at a really nice place and had fun hanging out with everyone at the pool and beach. I'm ready to go back!! We are anxiously awaiting Friday morning! Carter's mom and brother will be here visiting so it will be fun to share in the excitement with them!

First Post!

Ok, so after lots of peer pressure, I've decided to go ahead and start our blog. We've had a lot of changes going on lately! We are expecting our first baby on New Year's Day, and we moved to a new state!! I will try to keep up with the blog and post pics to document all of our new changes. We find out what we are having in two weeks so I will have a lot to post about then!
